UNTHA welcomes electrical apprentice

Our team at HQ is growing once again! Spencer Grahamslaw – an electrical installation apprentice – has joined UNTHA UK with a thirst for knowledge of waste management, fuelled by the opportunities within our growing industry.

The appointment sees his introduction into the world of waste, swapping bar work and full-time education for a career in all-things electrical. Currently managing an online learning environment while his studies are jolted due to the pandemic, he’s taking everything in his stride – motivated by shadowing our expert engineers.

Reflecting on his time at UNTHA so far, Spencer said: “The RS40 shredder has completely blown my mind! After looking at the specification drawing, then seeing it in real life, I’m learning how sophisticated UNTHA’s machines really are, and the ‘waste’ they can transform.”

With a promising future ahead of him, Spencer identified that our industry – and machines – are only set to evolve. This was one of the key reasons he chose UNTHA to guide his development and help him discover even more about the wastes streams that can be reused, recycled and converted into energy sources.

Even though the smell of the shredders in action is still taking its time getting used to, he prefers working on site amongst our problem solvers – getting acquainted with our machines first-hand to take his knowledge into everyday operations.

Commenting on Spencer’s appointment, UNTHA UK’s managing director, Marcus Brew, noted: “We’re delighted he feels UNTHA is the company for him – a place where each member of the team has a valued role within the greater organisation.

“Due to qualify in 2022, his excitement for completing tasks independently and offering the waste world his expertise is just what we’re looking for – we can’t wait to see what’s possible for Spencer’s future here at UNTHA UK.”
