With a 25 year career working with technically complex capital equipment, Marcus has been involved in multi-million pound blue-chip engineering projects around the world. As a result his in-depth knowledge of the production environment spans everything from waste management to the automotive industry and the fascinating world of aerospace.
Now a recognised expert in shredding technologies for the alternative fuel production industry, Marcus has played an active role in some of the country’s most exciting waste to energy and biomass projects. His contacts and knowledge of the wider supply chain mean he is ideally placed to not just advise on the shredding machinery itself, but also the financing, design and cost reductions of the complete waste to energy solution.
His commitment to delivering high quality projects that achieve maximum profitability for clients now cascade’s throughout the entire UNTHA UK team, in Marcus’ role as managing director. With a strong sales focus, he is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, the implementation of ever-more efficient processes and procedures, and the ongoing development of this incredibly talented team.
As head of sales and business development for the UNTHA brand worldwide, Peter is one of the most senior figureheads within our organisation. Working with the senior management team in the UK, he plays a crucial role in combining knowledge and insight from almost every continent of the globe, so that every ounce of innovation drives more yield, profits and environmental success for our customers.
A savvy decision-maker – passionate about the growth of both the UNTHA brand and client organisations – Andrea’s strong commercial awareness means she plays a key role in building businesses fit for the future. She has an enviable eye for both short-term, operational numbers and long-term strategic figures, which means ROI is always the priority for everyone concerned. Employed by both UNTHA UK and our Austrian parent company, she brings an exciting, collaborative dynamic to the team.
A self-motivated sales manager, with an abundance of enthusiasm and good humour, not to mention over 25 years’ experience, Gary is a knowledgeable shredding specialist. His expertise spans the design, sales and supply of turnkey recycling and waste management solutions for the RDF/SRF, WEEE and scrap metals industries, to name just a few.
Having worked in various engineering, project management, servicing and sales roles, in the UK and overseas, Gary has an impressive CV. The specialist shredding insight he has harnessed along the way, translates into an unrivalled ability to provide value-adding advice for UNTHA UK’s clients. He has supported customers in the development of existing and emerging market opportunities, whilst ensuring the roll out of sustainable business and marketing plans, continued growth and profitability.
A familiar face within the UNTHA UK team, Chris has been involved in the company’s journey since the beginning. In 2017, he retired from his role as chairman, following almost 50 years working in industry. However, we welcomed him back as a sales consultant in November 2018, to support UNTHA with the latest phenomenal phase of growth.
He will be responsible for working with prospective customers throughout the country, as they explore ways to boost their resource agendas – and their bottom lines – with the use of high performance shredding solutions.
With more than 8 years’ industry experience, Gemma has worked the length and breadth of the waste and recycling landscape. She spent the earlier parts of her career in glass recycling, before broadening her waste horizons and moving on to a sales role at Biffa. Most recently employed by Veolia, prior to joining UNTHA UK, she therefore has a strong grasp of the environmental challenges – and opportunities – facing customers throughout the country.
Keen to pursue a more technical sales role, Gemma was the perfect addition to the team at the start of 2019. She is working with existing and prospective clients throughout the North of England, Scotland and Wales, and is the ‘go to’ contact for all things ‘four shaft’.
Andy has a varied role at UNTHA UK , given the assorted nature of existing client applications and the number of diverse new enquiries that the team is currently working on.
An integral member of the team, Andy is responsible for spare parts sales, enquiries and bookings for the exciting new test centre, waste shredder demonstrations, machinery servicing and the overall maintenance of UNTHA UK’s North Yorkshire engineering hub.
With more than 16 years’ industry experience, Gerard is a multi-skilled engineer with an extensive mechanical and electrical skill-set. He has worked for giants including Allied Glass and Bagel Nash, with roles throughout his career spanning maintenance, management and self-employed contracting.
Such varied knowledge means very little fazes him, when delivering shredder projects large and small. Whether he’s supporting a client with the commissioning of a new machine install or the rebuild of an existing asset, he’s Mr Technical and Mr Organised!
There really is no challenge too large or small for this popular member of the UNTHA UK team. Ben’s ‘can do’ attitude and multi-skilled engineering experience means he is UNTHA UK’s lead point of contact for both mechanical and electrical enquiries.
With over 16 years’ experience, Ben can support clients in varied waste and recycling environments. He plays a pivotal role in the shredder commissioning stage, and remains a familiar face when assisting clients with the ongoing servicing and maintenance of their machinery. Ben quickly becomes a trusted member of the team who customers can rely on to ensure the greatest possible return on investment from their shredders. They are continually impressed with his level of knowledge and assistance, and the rapport he therefore has with these clients is second-to-none.
As a highly-qualified mechanical and electrical engineer, little fazes Rob on an installation, service or maintenance job. His CV has seen him work for the Ministry of Defence, help run Pedigree Masterfoods’ factory and build sports cars – and these are just some of the highlights! He is therefore well versed in tackling technical scenarios in a variety of sectors, which means he is an asset to have working on clients’ varied shredder projects.
The last eight years of his career have been spent in the waste and recycling sector, so he has some great knowledge to tap into – not to mention a good humoured approach to working with customers and colleagues alike!
With almost 20 years’ waste industry experience, Julian has an unrivalled depth of knowledge which proves an incredible asset when assisting prospective customers with their technical sales enquiries. He has worked for a number of globally recognised machinery providers throughout his career, and played a demonstrable part in the rapid growth of many.
Drawing upon his decades of insight, he is well placed to assist with application-wide client requirements however complex, yet his open mind and genuine enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology, means there’s no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ approach in his eyes. This true commitment to solving customer challenges means he has quickly become a popular member of the continually-expanding UNTHA team.
Having worked in the waste industry for more than 25 years, Calum is one of our most experienced service engineers. Qualified in both the electrical and mechanical disciplines, he has also run, maintained and managed waste and recycling sites throughout the UK. This operational, front-line knowledge – and honest, problem-solving approach to engineering – means he is an instant hit with customers large and small.
Having joined UNTHA from a compressed air specialist, Julie is all too familiar with the complex world of waste and recycling. And it is this area of engineering – plus her passion for all things ‘efficient’ – that sees her providing incredibly value-adding support to our after sales team.
She quickly builds relationships to establish trust and rapport, and keeps the customer at the heart of every action we take. From booking site visits to issuing machine reports, she’s got it covered, ensuring our service division runs like clockwork, however busy we become!
Following 18 years’ working in the food industry, Alan fancied a new challenge at the same time that our warehouse team continued to expand! He is therefore a welcome addition to this part of our aftersales function.
As a crucial support to UNTHA UK’s service manager Andy, Alan assists with spare and wear parts enquiries, deliveries and stock-taking; helps customer undertake trials at our shredder test centre; and provides general support for our team of nationwide engineers. This is the first time he’s worked in the world of waste and recycling, but he has quickly become a much-needed member of the team!
The queen of all things compliance, Marie is our standards champion and one of the key driving forces behind our continued development as a business. With a keen eye on all things process-related, she ensures we uphold and improve our approach to everything under the internal auditing, ISO certification, risk management, and compliance umbrellas.
Having worked in roles ranging from sales and customer service, to contracts and IT, Marie has a varied background, extensive skill-set and integral role within UNTHA UK.
A strong communicator with a keen eye for detail, Sharon is responsible for the development and continual improvement of processes throughout the company. This drives innovation and change through the implementation of ever smarter systems, technologies and workflows.
Whether she’s working on a sales, administration or technical process, Sharon’s goal is to further build on productivity and efficiencies within the business. With more than 15 years’ experience in a variety of administration roles, Liana brings a wealth of organisational, process and communication skills to her position at UNTHA UK. She is often one of the first points of contact for new customers enquiring about our products and services, and she therefore provides a crucial interface between these businesses and our shredding experts.
She is fast becoming one of our core ‘behind the scenes’ colleagues who keeps UNTHA running efficiently, effectively, and to the highest standards. However, her personable nature means she will become more and more client-facing as time passes.
An experienced chartered accountant with years of technical industry knowledge, Liz is responsible for every element of UNTHA UK’s finance function. She ensures the commercial robustness of the business as it continues to grow, taking care of everything from the company’s management accounts, through to payroll, invoicing, auditing, VAT and cash flow.
With a fresh, open and proactive approach to accounting, Liz has proven a hit between clients and suppliers alike. Katie is responsible for coordinating every element of UNTHA UK’s communications strategy. She liaises with customers to develop case studies and videos, maximises our presence at trade shows and exhibitions, works with the team to prepare authoritative comments for trade journals, maintains our website content and keeps everyone updated as to what goes on at our Boroughbridge headquarters.
