UNTHA UK embarks on next leg of fundraising mission for Marie Curie

This week, members of the UNTHA UK team and its extended network will be settling into the saddles for the next challenge in the charity mission — a sponsored indoor cycle ride totalling a mammoth 993 miles — helping to raise vital funds for our nominated charity of the year, Marie Curie.

Over the next seven days, our colleagues will take on a series of ‘cycling legs’ on a pair of exercise bikes which are taking pride of place in the UNTHA UK reception area. You may be thinking, ‘what’s the significance of the 993 miles?’ It’s actually the exact distance from our Boroughbridge base to UNTHA’s Austrian headquarters in Kuchl.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the team to band together to achieve a significant cycling target.”  commented UNTHA UK’s MD, Marcus Brew. “Our sales director Gary Moore and I have travelled the journey from Boroughbridge to Kuchl by car many times, and even then it’s been a challenge! This will be a chance to test endurance and resolve — while hopefully drumming up lots of generous donations from our band of supporters.”

And there’ll be lots more where this is coming from! Over the next few months, the team will be taking part in a series of ‘mini missions’ and larger charity drives to achieve as big a fundraising pot as possible for their chosen cause.

Reflecting on the reasons for choosing Marie Curie – a charity committed to providing end-of-life support and care, working tirelessly to ensure every person enjoys the best possible quality of life while living with a terminal illness — UNTHA UK’s charity champion, PA and office administrator, Alina Calin, noted: “Family is everything, and the work that Marie Curie offers in support of those who need it most is really special. I’m looking forward to raising as much money as possible to show our appreciation.”

To donate to the worthy cause — and show some support for our cycling stars — please head to our JustGiving page and give what you can.
