Next up, it’s data analyst, Sharon Annat… How did you first get into the world of shredding? I joined UNTHA nearly 10 years ago as sales coordinator, supporting the wider sales team. Since then, I’ve moved into the project management side to aid UNTHA’s ongoing digital transformation. Now, I work to glean and translate business data into meaningful insights, to inform decision-making in line with company targets and KPIs. What’s the one skill or quality that helps you succeed in the UNTHA environment? Be adaptable. We’re a fast paced, ever-changing environment, and each team member is well-equipped to face any challenging situation head-on. Name one highlight from your UNTHA tenure so far. The introduction and integration of the UNTHA Power BI platform to transform and model our company data. This provides us with improved business intelligence and visibility to make better, more informed decisions, proactively rather than reactively. How do you unwind at the end of a busy day at work? I live in the countryside, so a walk down the lane if I’m feeling energetic or a good film if I want to relax. What’s the best piece of work-related advice you’ve ever received? “Work to live, don’t live to work.” I truly believe that work/life balance is key to staying productive during the day and maintaining a happy, fulfilled existence. Which machine is your favourite from the UNTHA shredder range, and why? They all have their merits, but I’m loving the PS1300 at the moment. It’s filled a niche in the market to make good use of pallets that could otherwise lie dormant in the corner of a warehouse, taking up valuable space. The material can then be used in a number of ways to create additional revenue. UNTHA has a number of divisions scattered all over the globe — Austria, Poland, Iberica, and Turkey, to name a few. If you weren’t a trusty fixture at the UK branch, which business would be next on your work hit list? I’d have to start in Austria I think — such a beautiful location. What do you think makes UNTHA’s service such a hit with our customers? Because we care! Your business is our business, and it’s our job to find the best solution for your needs, so you can rest assured your organisation’s waste streams are in good hands. What’s your main hope for UNTHA UK over the next year or so? I hope that we will continue to maximise our data value to support UNTHA’s continued growth and development. And finally, what’s your main environmental hope for the UK as a whole? I’d like to see a huge reduction in unnecessary packaging, and an equal increase in the recycling effort from the nation. I want my daughter — and future generations — to live in a world that is healthy and sustainable.
