Lewis Horne shows us his mettle…

UNTHA Lewis Horne

Our people are important to us at UNTHA UK — after all, without their knowledge and expertise we wouldn’t be able to deliver the five-star customer service that we’re so famous for.

So, each month we ask a different colleague 10 quickfire questions that offer a little more insight into why they play such an important and valued part of our growing team.

Next up, it’s customer relations advisor, Lewis Horne. Over to you, Lewis!

  1. How did you first get into the world of shredding?

The position was actually recommended to me by my neighbour — and now colleague — Sarah Murray. After carrying out some of my own research I thought I’d take a shot and send in my CV — now here I am!

  1. What’s the one skill or quality that helps you succeed in the UNTHA environment?

Versatility. It doesn’t just help, it’s a necessity!

  1. Name one highlight from your UNTHA tenure so far.

It’s still fairly early in my career at UNTHA, but so far, it’s been the opportunity to travel to some weird and wonderful places all over the UK.

  1. How do you unwind at the end of a busy day at work?

Weather depending, I like to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air.

  1. What’s the best piece of work-related advice you’ve ever received?

Always approach new challenges with an open mind.

  1. Which machine is your favourite from the UNTHA shredder range, and why?

Probably the XR3000. Put simply, it’s a complete ‘unit’ and there isn’t much that it can’t shred!

  1. UNTHA has a number of divisions scattered all over the globe — Austria, Poland, Iberica, and Turkey, to name a few. If you weren’t a trusty fixture at the UK branch, which business would be next on your work hit list?

Austria. The whole country looks stunning, and it’s the birthplace of UNTHA, so there’s plenty of company heritage there.

  1. What do you think makes UNTHA’s service such a hit with our customers?

We know our machines better than anyone, so why would you trust someone else to maintain your shredder?

  1. What’s your main hope for UNTHA UK over the next year or so?

To continue to push towards our ‘stretch targets’ for the end of 2022.

  1. And finally, what’s your main environmental hope for the UK as a whole?

For renewable energy to become more readily available for all.
