The hunt is on for a project engineer to join the UNTHA UK team, as nationwide growth continues.

With a number of shredder installations in progress – on waste, recycling and energy recovery sites throughout the country – the projects team is busy bringing customers’ facilities to life. And with a strong forward order book heading in 2023, demand shows no sign of slowing.

The recruitment search is therefore underway, to find an experienced project engineer who can help ensure the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning of UNTHA machinery, large and small.

Reporting into UNTHA UK’s project manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a number of operational duties, including:

  • Undertaking site surveys and liaising with customers/colleagues to finalise pre-installation requirements
  • Checking technical designs and drawings
  • Preparing pre-delivery commissioning reports, paperwork and installation plans
  • Liaising with suppliers and partners regarding wider project resources required
  • Managing elements of installation projects, including the preparation of sites/facilities
  • Overseeing site electrical, mechanical installation work
  • Supervising engineers and other on-site personnel
  • Ensuring adherence to all quality, environmental, health and safety protocols
  • Providing technical advice and problem-solving expertise
  • Proactively liaising with all project stakeholders throughout.

A full breakdown of the role can be seen on UNTHA UK’s careers page.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented project engineer, with waste and recycling experience, to join our busy team,” commented UNTHA UK’s managing director Marcus Brew. “We have continued to grow – despite the challenging economic backdrop – and set ourselves high standards when it comes to customer service excellence at every touchpoint. Our colleagues are rewarded accordingly, so I am excited about the package we’ve put together for this particular role.”

Considering the nature of UNTHA UK’s customer projects, which differ from one site to the next, Marcus added: “The project engineer vacancy will suit someone who can think on their feet, enjoys travel and variety, and is a strong communicator.

“Shredder installations are naturally complex, high-stakes events – often rich with challenges and lots of moving parts – but customers come to UNTHA knowing we deliver. It’s therefore crucial that we recruit the best people into our roles, as we further our expansion plans – particularly in the projects department.

“The capabilities of our shredders are only as strong as the quality of our installations, so attention to detail from a planning, engineering, and stakeholder management point of view, is critical.”
