It’s a month since the doors opened at Messe München, and the internationally renowned IFAT event returned. And it did not disappoint!

UNTHA shredding technology was one of almost 3,000 exhibitors to showcase products and services to 119,000 visitors from across the globe. And colleagues from UNTHA UK were on hand to welcome guests, demonstrate the company’s latest shredding innovations, and discuss some of the most pioneering projects unfolding worldwide.

• The UNTHA XR mobil-e stole the show during the live demo sessions in the VDMA arena. First of all, the machine was one of very few shredders to transform wood waste into a biomass product in a single pass, evidencing in an instant the small footprint – not to mention comparatively less capital – required for a biomass production line.
  Noise and dust levels were also markedly lower, given the XR’s slow speed, high torque operation – there was no stepping away from our shredder during the demonstrations! And the throughput just kept coming, showcasing just how much of a reliable workhorse this machine really is.
• Visitors flocked to see the internal workings of our highly-acclaimed XR waste shredder and new two shaft ZR pre-shredder. An elevated platform allowed them to walk between the two machines for an unparalleled close-up of the their cutting concepts. Used to traditionally only seeing equipment from the outside, one delegate after the next commented on the benefits of understanding what goes on inside the shredding technology.
• The ability to visit a nearby customer – via private shuttle – was also one of the most popular reasons to visit UNTHA at IFAT, and certainly helped us stand out from the crowd. With an impressive line-up of shredding technology on show, our various machines tackled a variety of difficult applications ranging from pulper ropes to window frames, and rolled products to tyres.
• After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, IFAT 2022 was a welcome reason to meet with faces new and old, and enjoy each other’s company – as well as talk business. With German food and drink available on the UNTHA stand from the start of the day, hundreds of delegates enjoyed our hospitality, with some joining us into the evening too.
• It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with international colleagues too, with representatives from Austria, Germany, Iberica, Poland, France, Australia, and Southeast Asia among those joining us during the event. And with one enquiry after another, it was fantastic to witness not just exciting conversations unfolding, but handshakes to confirm new shredder orders too.
