UNTHA UK crowned winner in York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Business Awards

As a proud subsidiary of UNTHA global, we’ve spent more than two decades championing close collaboration, engineering excellence, and a genuine penchant for progress across the UK’s waste management sector. And, while seeing our solutions out in the world is a reward in itself, there’s no better feeling than being recognised by peers for our impact. That’s why we’re so humbled by our latest achievement – being crowned the overall winner of the York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Business Awards 2026.

The annual showcase, developed by York Business School in partnership with York Press, celebrates the most successful and impactful businesses across the region. The ranking is not deduced by a single product or project’s performance, but through an objective deep dive into turnover, profit, growth, and headcount – acknowledging organisations that are not only growing, but making a meaningful contribution to their communities.

While UNTHA UK has featured in multiple regional listings over the years, including the Digital Enterprise Top 100 three times consecutively, this is the first time we’ve been named in the York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Business Awards. So, it’s certainly a significant milestone for our team. And to claim the primary title – ahead of businesses from every sector across the region – is a level of recognition like no other, not least against such a relentless financial backdrop.

Marcus Brew, our managing director, accepted the award on behalf of the team at a prestigious ceremony held at York St John University: “To be recognised by your peers at the university and also in the wider business community is absolutely fantastic. I’m really, really proud of the company and for everyone who works at UNTHA UK – it’s very special.” 

And it is. Because this isn’t a reflection of one good year or an isolated decision. Instead, it’s a testament to what our people have built together consistently over several years – a business that invests in its team, stays close to its clients, manages change with purpose, and never rests on its laurels when it comes to quality and innovation.

We’ve never chased growth for growth’s sake. UNTHA UK was established to bring genuine engineering excellence and long-term relationships to the UK and Irish markets. The fact our commitment has grown stronger still more than two decades later, with unwavering conviction at such a significant scale, is an achievement we’re incredibly proud of. We’re honoured to represent the resource and waste management sector at the top of the list too.
