UNTHA’s director of global business development took to the stage – albeit a virtual one – this week, as more than 800 industry professionals tuned in for Waste Today’s inaugural online trade show.
The digital event was the brainchild of GIE Media who responded quickly to the business constraints posed by COVID19. Recognising that the world of waste and recycling never stops – not least when it comes to innovation – they drew up a hard-hitting programme of speakers and delivered an afternoon of powerful, advice-led content for delegates.
Joining peers from AMCS Group, Big Truck Rental, Vecoplan and Trelleborg Wheel Systems America, it was Gary Moore who represented UNTHA on the day. Having worked on both sides of the Atlantic throughout his career he brought a wealth of knowledge to his 30-minute session – 10 steps to more profitable shredding.
His very visual, straight-talking slides talked attendees through everything from machine flexibility, to energy efficient motors, purchase vs operating costs and the questions everyone should ask their shredder supplier. There were even tips on the must-know numbers and how to build a business case for the investment.
“While 30 minutes is not long at all, I wanted to try and squeeze as much as I could into the talk, to really get people thinking about their next purchase,” explained Gary. “The aim was to help people build the perfect shredder specification, so that they can achieve maximum environmental and financial success from their plant.
“I applaud Waste Today for their agility during these difficult economic times, and because UNTHA is a brand with an equal level of innovation at its heart, this was an event we had to get involved in.”
