‘The ultimate guide to tyre shredding’ has hit the virtual shelves.

With 15.5 billion tyres reaching their end-of-life globally, each year, this presents a significant waste challenge for the industry to handle. So we’ve created another information-packed guide to share the safest, most efficient and profitable ways to manufacture TDF (Tyre Derived Fuel)

Another ‘bulky’ resource we are rather familiar with here at UNTHA, tyres can simply be a waste headache as they continue to hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Recycling this tricky rubber material has typically required resource intensive methodologies… but all this is about to change.

In 2021, tyres – or more specifically, TDF – could be the new industry hero.

With the help of our new XR3000C-HT, we’re aiming to reduce the high percentage of end-of-life tyres that are landfilled, stockpiled, illegally dumped or simply ‘lost’ from the value chain. And this straight-talking guide, uncovers how we plan to do it.

Marcus Brew, managing director at UNTHA UK comments: “TDF is a somewhat mature fuel, but over the years it has lost its appeal due to the typically high wear and cost intensive nature of tyre processing. So, in working with operators to produce TDF, UNTHA has not discovered a new resource panacea – but we have created a safe, efficient and profitable way to produce this resource, which we believe will revolutionise what’s now possible with tyres, worldwide.

“Whatever is going on in the external landscape, shredding innovation continues at pace at UNTHA. This means everything from standard car/passenger tyres, through to more rugged truck and off the road (OTR) tyres, can now be efficiently processed for a variety of recycling and energy recovery applications, with UNTHA’s tyre shredders.”
