Solar-powered shredding showcase invites customers behind the scenes

PSH Environmental

Launched in 2014, UNTHA UK’s electric-driven XR shredder now operates in six continents. But after years of groundwork, our collaboration with PSH Environmental marks the first solar-powered project of its size — reducing expenditure for the firm by £100,000 per year, saving the site up to 75% in energy costs, as well as transforming over 100,000 tonnes of bulky and ‘unshreddable’ waste into a renewable energy source.

And this summer, we’re inviting VIPs behind the scenes. On 23-24 July, in partnership with PSH Environmental, we will offer insight into the pioneering mindset and trailblazing technology powering its Norwich HQ.

With 798 solar panels generating up to 400kW of energy, the firm can not only contribute back to the grid, but remain self-sufficient on-site — powering the 38-tonne UNTHA XR3000C mobil-e that transforms waste into an alternative fuel, seamlessly transitioning to zero-carbon electricity sourced from the grid when solar power is insufficient.

Hand-selected guests can expect to catch:

  • A firsthand look at the high-performance XR technology lying at the heart of the facility, plus our low cost, high throughput two shaft ZR shredder range
  • Live demonstrations of waste processing for alternative fuel production and wood shredding for biomass
  • Displays of smaller (yet just as mighty!) machines, as well as inner workings and spare parts
  • Tours of the wider facility, which includes a 2,000ft² new building and 40% extension to the yard
  • Insights on how PSH’s solar vision became a reality
  • Expert commentary and no-holds-barred Q&A sessions with our shredding specialists
  • Refreshments in abundance

As investment nears £8m across this pioneering site now, with future plans for continued innovation, PSH Environmental is a case in point for future-focused waste processing. As such, local dignitaries — including the mayor, council members, and industry bodies — are naturally curious to catch a glimpse.

Equally keen to see the innovation for yourself? Mark 23-24 July in your calendar, and keep your eyes peeled on our LinkedIn channel, where we’ll be revealing ways to get on the guestlist. Or, register your place now.
