What’s in store for WEEE in 2014?
Waste electrical and electronic equipment continues to pose a significant problem in Europe. The incorrect and inadequate collection and treatment of e-waste sees thousands of tonnes illegally traded and dumped in poorer overseas countries, which not only has adverse environmental implications – it also means that, as a continent, we are once again failing to harness the value of important resources.
A number of useful and expensive raw materials are commonly found in WEEE, and more should be being done to recover them. Download our ‘Preparing for 2014 – WEEE factsheet’ to learn more about the current WEEE landscape and discover how you may be affected by 2014 developments.
