Getting to know… Anne Mattison, UNTHA UK aftersales support
In recent months we have brought you a series of short interviews with different members of our growing team of waste shredder experts. Today, it’s the turn of Anne Mattison, who many of you will know in her role as aftersales support. Anne was recently interviewed by MRW magazine for the Little Interview feature, and if you missed it, you can read her Q&A in full here…
What was your first job? I was a finance clerk in an accountancy practice.
What are the best and worst moments of your career so far? The best by far was spearheading UNTHA UK through a triple ISO accreditation – a fantastic achievement for the whole team and one that was personally very rewarding. The worst – turning up to an incredibly important meeting in my previous job wearing two odd shoes!
What is your toughest challenge? ‘Tough’ would imply problematic – I honestly try not to view anything as an obstacle, as being put to the test is how we learn and progress.
What is your favourite food? Seafood paella
How do you relax? Come rain or shine, I love being outdoors. But you also can’t beat relaxing on the sofa with a good film and a large glass of wine!
Book or e-reader? A ‘proper’ book, and ideally a hard back. I’m currently reading the fourth Game of Thrones novel ‘A Feast for Crows’.
What one thing would you change about the waste/recycling industry? I’d like the rules, regulations and costs to be rethought and simplified, so more people understand how to recycle and why it is so important now, and for future generations.
If you weren’t in waste what would you want to be? A full time travel junky – I’d start in India.
Where is your favourite place, apart from home? On the beach in Jamaica.
What is your favourite song? Invincible, by Muse.
If you could have a drink with one famous person, who would it be? Valentino Rossi.
