Getting the greatest return on investment from your shredder
As organisations continue to recover from the economic turbulence of recent times, it is important that we all share our knowledge and advice at every possible opportunity. We can learn from one another and work together to improve our operational efficiencies, the country’s environmental agenda and at the same time, all of our profit margins.
A free library of educative resources is available on the UNTHA UK website, with helpful PDFs for visitors to download at their leisure. In addition, we’re going to offer a new topic for consideration in every issue of our newsletter. This month we’re looking at the importance of equipment service and maintenance .
On 28 November, we held a specialist SRF manufacturing day at the site of our client, Brown Recycling. With a programme of expert seminars and a tour of the SRF production plant on offer, this event gave delegates an unrivalled insight into a best-practice waste to energy operation.
One of the speakers we were pleased to hear from speaker Bob Anderson, associate director at Wardel Armstrong. His presentation entitled “Plant Operations: The Implications of Poor Equipment Choice” considered the complex task of asset procurement. He drew particular attention to the fact that small savings at the initial purchasing stage may appear attractive, but they can impact on your business for years to come in the form of greater running, maintenance and servicing costs.
This concept got the UNTHA UK team thinking. Our world-leading engineers have worked hard to design and manufacture robust and reliable shredders that are easy to operate and maintain, and achieve unrivalled uptime rates for clients. We know that every hour of downtime equates to lost profits, so for years UNTHA has worked with industry operators to ensure our machinery will continue to stand up to the challenges that waste and recycling can present.
Also, UNTHA UK’s commitment to customer service extends far beyond the initial procurement process – we will give you more and we want you to achieve the greatest possible ROI from your shredder for years to come.
Our after sales department offers service and maintenance packages too. Available on a monthly direct debit payment plan, these packages provide clients with continued access to our team of experienced and highly-trained UK and Austrian engineers. Including service visits as standard, discounted spare parts and reduced labour costs in the rare event of a shredder breakdown, we can provide cost-effective support to ensure ongoing optimum machine performance.
These flexible maintenance contracts are available for all clients with any type of UNTHA shredder, and the level of support can be tailored to suit the needs of your particular organisation. Before signing up we suggest carrying out a pre-service inspection of your machine by one of our Austrian-trained engineers. This will help you decide upon the maintenance agreement that is right for you.
